Grey & Yellow Baby Shower
in Chestertown, Maryland
So when my brother announced he was having a baby… of course, we had to throw a baby shower! Since we live in a small home, we knew the only way to make everyone comfortable would be to tent it, and since it was a dreary November day, we put down some dance floor as flooring, put up some clear sidewalls, and heated the tent as well as used a marquee to connect it to our home.
After discovering the theme of their nursery was going to be elephants and the color yellow, I decided to make a play on it with silver regal tablecloths to mimic the skin of an elephant, and enlisted the help of Liza from Wildly Native Flower Farm for the centerpieces! The italian ruscus greenery on the tent cables is from Sam’s Club (crazy right?!) and we actually installed the greenery on Thursday evening, so over 30 hours before the baby shower, and even with the tent heater on like crazy they didn’t dry out!
